A Word on Using Carrier Oils in this Relaxing Pillow Spray Blend
Usually, carrier oils are used to dilute the concentration of essential oils, especially for topical applications. However, using a carrier oil in this spray will result in unsightly oil stains on the fabric.
Instead of using carrier oils, this relaxing pillow spray blend uses vodka to disperse the essential oils. The alcohol evaporates quickly, leaving behind diluted essential oils that gently disperse the aromas without staining or damaging your pillow covers and sheets.
Precautions
Store the blend in a dark-colored glass spray bottle. The dark color prevents light from adversely affecting the properties of the essential oils.
Do not store the blend in a plastic bottle as plastic reacts with potent essential oils and damages their properties.
Always handle essential oils carefully. These oils are very strong and can irritate the skin in their concentrated form.
If you are nursing, pregnant, or receiving medical attention, you must consult your physician before using essential oils.
Additionally, make sure to store the oil away from children.
