What are Seed Quilts?

How to Use the Hamama Seed Quilts & Microgreens Grow Kit
Using the Hamama Microgreens Grow Kit and Seed Quilt is unbelievably easy and straightforward.
Just add water to the growing tray once, plant your seed quilt and you’re done. No need to water repeatedly. Neither do you need to install special lighting or a humidity dome. Everything you need is included with the kit.
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Step 1- Fill the container with water up to the fill line – approximately 3 cups
- Step 2- Place the seed quilt inside the tray
- Step 3- Press down for 10 seconds. This allows the seed quilt to come in contact with the water and begin absorbing the water.
That’s it! Your super easy microgreen kit is set up and your seeds are primed to start germinating.
Check the grow kit in about 48 to 72 hours. You should see some signs of germination. The seed pods will have swollen a little bit and you should see little sprouts beginning to push the top layer of the quilt up. This indicates that the sprouts are eager to break through and ‘sprout their wings’. You can help them by peeling back the top layer of the seed quilt when you start to see the green leaves sprouting through the top. This will expose the growing greens.
Once you’re done peeling back the top layer of the quilt, leave your microgreens be to grow at their own pace.
Time to Harvest Your Homegrown Microgreens
Your microgreens should be ready to harvest in about a week to ten days. You can harvest your homegrown microgreens by cutting or pulling them. Both are equally easy. Which harvesting method you use depends on your personal preference.
Cutting the microgreens is easy. Use a pair of herb scissors and snip them off right at their base. A quick rinse and they are ready to be eaten.
To pull the microgreens, simply grasp the base of the stems and pull. They will come out of the holder easily.
