As the summer turns to autumn, the outdoors is filled with distinctive sights, sounds, and smells.

The leaves start to change colors going from green to yellow, orange, and brown ever so slowly. Every morning, the leaves take on a slightly different shade than the day before. Then comes the time when they start falling gently to the ground. The slow transformation in the outdoor landscape is mesmerizing.

The Fallen Leaves Essential Oil Blend is a great way to bring those distinctive fall scents indoors. With its combination of fall spice and fruity notes, the aroma evokes memories of being outdoors in the fall when the leaves start to change colors and fall gently to the ground.

Recipe for Fallen Leaves Essential Oil Blend

The classic Fallen Leaves diffuser blend uses three essential oils – Ginger, Patchouli, and Orange. You can choose to customize the scent by adding in a drop or two of other essential oils as mentioned below.

For a classic Fallen Leaves blend add:

3 drops Blood Orange

2 drops Patchouli

1 drop Ginger

Add all three essential oils to a dark-colored glass bottle.

This article on How To Use Your Essential Oil Diffuser has useful information on how many drops you should put in your diffuser.

Customization options:

To infuse more of an outdoor smell to the blend, add a drop of Eucalyptus or Peppermint essential oil to the blend.

Start with just 1 drop of each oil as they both have very strong scents. Add more only if you want a stronger forest smell to the essential oil blend.

Blood Orange essential oil gives this blend its crisp, distinctly autumn aromas. It has a subtle scent as compared to the other two oils so don’t reduce the quantity or that fruity scent will get completely overpowered.
