Homemade gifts are always appreciated so much more than store-bought items. Making gifts with seasonal scents takes the idea to a whole new level.

The warm, heady scents of pumpkin spice, chai tea, and apple pie perfectly encompass that cozy, comfortable fall feeling. During the dull, grey days of autumn, it feels especially good to surround yourself with these warmth-inducing aromas.

You’ve seen how you can use Fall Essential Oils & Blends to fill your home with fabulous fall aromas. Why stop there? Go all out and indulge yourself and your loved ones with these genius DIY fall-scented gift ideas.

Making your own body scrubs, bath salts, candles, and room sprays is incredibly easy and they smell fabulous too!  All you need to do then is just add a few drops of your favorite fall scents to the basic recipe to give your gifts a seasonal twist.

You can use the recipes mentioned below or customize them to create your own unique scents.  While you’re at it, make extra of each item to give away as gifts.  For Thanksgiving, scent your gifts with these wonderful Thanksgiving Diffuser Blends.

Have fun with these super simple DIY Fall-Scented Gift Ideas!

Pumpkin-Spice Scented Body Scrub

This DIY body scrub smells just like pumpkin spice lattes. When you rub it over your body, it gives off that distinctly delicious sweet ‘n spicy aroma while also working its magic on your skin. What’s not to like about that!

Making the basic body scrub is incredibly easy. All you do then is add a few drops of pumpkin spice essential oil blend into your homemade body scrub. That’s it! You have a Pumpkin-Spice Scented Body Scrub.

How to Make the Pumpkin Spice Body Scrub

Put 2 tablespoons of brown sugar in a dark-colored glass bottle.

Melt 1 teaspoon solid coconut oil and add it to the sugar.

Add 2 drops pumpkin spice essential oil blend.

Note 1: You can use either white or brown sugar. I prefer to use brown sugar for fall-scented body scrubs so they have both the color and aroma of fall.

Note 2: You must use solid coconut oil when making a body scrub. When the oil cools down, the body scrub will have a creamy texture that makes it easier to apply.

To use, take a little bit and rub gently all over your body just like any other body scrub.

This is an excellent, all-natural scrub. The sugar granules help get slough off dead skin cells, while the coconut oil nourishes and moisturizes the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.

Bath Salts With Fall Scents

Bath Salts are wonderful to use in your bath for a little natural exfoliation and to relax and unwind after a long day.

Start with these instructions for making your own bath salts.

Add 4 drops of any one of these fall essential oils and blends to the basic bath salt recipe. Every blend in the set is specially formulated to recreate classic autumn aromas.

Using any of these blends in your homemade bath salts will give it a distinctly fall scent.

Put your Fall-Scented Bath Salts in a pretty glass jar. Tie it with a ribbon and that’s it! You have another fabulous fall-scented gift.

Candles – A Versatile Fall-Scented Gift Idea

Who doesn’t love scented candles? They are great at any time of the year, and especially during fall. Their flickering glow and lovely aromas make you feel warm and cozy all over. Making your own scented candles with fall essential oils takes it to another level.

The most exciting part about making your own scented candles is that you can combine different scents to get unique aromas for each batch.

How to Make Fall-Scented Candles

You can either make candles from scratch or use a candle-making kit. When making candles from scratch, I find that beeswax candles are easier to make.

If you want to go this route, start with these instructions for Making Beeswax Candles.

For the fall twist, scent the candles with any of these fall essential oils and blends.

Prefer to use a ready-made candle kit to make your fall-scented candles? These two kits are reasonably priced, user-friendly, and come with everything you need including complete instructions on how to make your own candles.

This is the best Beeswax Candle Making Kit on Amazon. It comes with everything you need to make the candles including 4 brightly colored candle tins that are just great for gifting.

This Soy Wax Candle Making Kit has everything you need to make 4 beautiful 8 oz. candles.

This is my favorite book for making candles, soaps, balms, salves, and other home decor items using beeswax –  Beeswax Alchemy: How to Make Your Own Soap, Candles, Balms, Creams, and Salves from the Hive.

Light your homemade scented candles in your bathroom, kitchen, or living room to create a cozy ambiance in the room. Make several candles and give them away as gifts.

Something to think about: Homemade fall-scented candles are the perfect hostess gift to bring to Thanksgiving dinner.

Room Sprays with Fall Aromas

Give the bottles a decorative touch with these labels, if you are planning on giving these away as gifts. You can either give a set of three in a little gift box or as part of an aromatherapy gift basket.

Super Easy Fall-Scented Pinecones

This is so easy, it’s genius really! Pinecones are the quintessential fall décor item and scenting them with fall scents takes this to another level.

Collect pinecones on your walks and use these instructions for how to scent pinecones with essential oils.

Use the blends from Plant Therapy’s Loving’ Fall blend set to create your fall-scented pinecones.

There’s no limit to the ways you can use fall-scented pinecones around your home – put them in a bowl, create a wreath, make a pretty candle stand with smaller pinecones, or just scatter them on a windowsill.

You can also use one or more fall-scented pinecones as part of your gift wrapping or add a few into your gift basket.
